Project Description

Project Description

This RCMP building replaced an existing building that had been in use since 1977. The primary objective was responding to the needs of increased policing requirements in Golden and surrounding areas. The new building serves as a standalone building for the detachment, offering full facilities for office and field staff. These facilities include meeting rooms, community outreach spaces, open and private office spaces, exercise rooms, change rooms, secure storage, evidence and records storage, interrogation and interview rooms, six cells, garage bays, and regional communications server rooms.

Electrical Systems Description:

The general scope of work began with a review of the existing building’s electrical tender documents (drawings and specifications). MCW then reissued a detailed electrical and communications tender document for the new building. The reissued tender documents listed MCW as the Engineers of Record, along with minor technical changes discovered during the review. MCW also performed construction administration services until the project was completed. The RCMP occupied the facility throughout the duration of construction.
